Each component distinct in its exhibition yet combining to form a wider, more-dimensional sound range. With these upgrades, there is a lush feeling to sound like the heavy mix of bass, drums, piano and other instruments was notable. All these additional features combine to deliver a very lively sound with brilliant clarity. To begin with, there’s the tweeter, bass port, woofer, cabinet and crossover. The B6.2 makes significant updates on the older Debut. Lastly, as a protective measure, the back is bound by metal posts. What’s more, the presence of a protruded dust cap improves the responsiveness of the speaker.Īs a smart move against sonic coloration, Jones installed an additional brace to the design, also effectively replacing the former resonant sound to a faint, metallic pop when tapped. Further differentiating itself from past releases, the speaker’s front panel is tightly fused with the mesh-tweeter, a strategy to enhance sound output. The speaker is made of 1’-inch silk dome tweeter and a 6.5’-inch aramid fiber. The B6.2 has a classic appearance, in a tall, slim case and a front bass port. A brave move given that most brands would have merely cloned previously existing designs. Designĭesign-wise, the B6.2 almost looks like it has no connection to the B6.a. This outstanding speaker will give you superior value for your money. The B6.2 speaker is a blend of the older B6.a, and the more recent Uni-fi, suggesting that Jones had clear plans for the series from the start. A striking fact is that the designer, Andrew Jones, was able to make improvements, all for just an extra $20. As they say, you stole my slam, or in this case, my sound! One could be forgiven for thinking there would have been no updates on the Debut b6-a but here we are already. The Elac B6-a speaker was the rave of the industry, as well as the press… Until the release of the B6.2.
